October in the garden 2018

Well no one can say that October in the garden hasn't been a bumper month of Sunshine! Certainly we have had a bit of rain but not the normal quota and with the fabulous sunny days we have seen growth like springtime! Lawns growing and needing cutting, strawberry plants flowering and fruiting and Wisteria was still in flower in the early part of the month!... So now its cut back time...all the pernenials to be cut back, dead annuals to be removed, rambling roses to be cut and tied back along with removing the leaves that have fallen (helping to prevent the horrible black-spot we have had this year) Don't forget its a great time to put in the Spring bulbs now also.
